Which Star Trek characters would you off?

Also, you can’t kill off Guinan, she’s awesome on that show (imagine Whoopi Goldberg playing a serious, subdued confidant type character with a very sharp, dry wit, and that’s Guinan).

It was always kind of intersting that, with Troi and Guinan, the Enterprise essentially had two Counselor types, but two rather different ones. It was probably more a problem with the quality of writing that Troi tended to be a rather ineffectual counselor, but just remember: Her primary role was to create tension between the two resident Big Guys, Riker and Worf (remember Worf drunk off his ass in Star Trek Nemesis? He was at the wedding of his long-time rival and his ex-girlfriend. Yeah.)

OS: Chekov and Sulu.
NG: Worf, Wesley, Troi, Data, Riker, both doctors, the dude with the hair clip over his eyes.
DS9: Entire Ferengi race, O’Brian, Odo, the Dabo chick, Bashir.
STV: Nelix, Kess, Paris, Kim, Torres, Tuvok, Chakotay.
STE: I liked that crew mostly. Threaten Archer again and you’re going to have a messy transporter accident. any Vulcans who aren’t suppressing their emotions.

The Ferengi?! But if you kill them off, who will make wry observations about the genreal hypocracy that is the Federation? Other than the Cardassians, I mean?

EMH mark II

True. Just make then less horrendously ugly, then. As a character, Quark was fine. Kill most of the rest though.

I dunno, wanting to kill off an entire alien race because you perceive them as ugly sets a bad precedent.

And I think I might have to ammend my previous statement, Quark points out human hypocracy, while Garak (the humble Cardassian tailor, exiled from his homeworld for failing to pay taxes, I assure you) merely points out their assumed naivete regarding how ugly the universe really is.

He keeps moving stuff around!

He always acted like some schmuck who had leapt into a Star Fleet Captain and didn’t know what to do.

And I missed him in the death pool?
Oh, fie!

Good calls.

Data. He’s not Spock, and he never will be. You know why? Because Spock never wanted to be human.

I think that was kind of supposed to be the point, since the show is about Starfleet finally having the capability to see more than just the closest bits of interstellar space (evidently Warp 5 is much faster than Warp 3 or Warp 4). Maybe the Vulcans should have offered some kind of preparatory course or something to familiarize the Starfleet officers with the various cultures though.

Tuvok Kills Neelix.

Actually, I always found the Ferengi kind of interesting on Trek.

In TNG, they were supposed to be the villians de jour now that we was all pals with the Klingons. Except they never made them particularly villianous. Given what a profiteering whore Roddenberry was, it’s kind of hard for him to write villianous capitalists. So they brought back the Romulans, invented the Borg and quickly stripped both of most of their dignity.

DS9 deserves a lot of credit for taking the few shards of info that TNG had on the, fleshing them out as a race and making them interesting.

The thing was, you never developed a clear economic system in Trek. You had replicators that could produce anything anyone wanted, and anyone could use one any time they wanted, so there was no production or labor. It was implied there were people in private enterprise, such as Harry Mudd.

Good Lord, man, have you seen his* feet?

Which Star Trek characters would I off?

Why, any crew member wearing a der trihs, of course! They’re gonna die anyway, right?

Oh. Damn. I think I got some of that backwards… hadn’t had my coffee yet. My bad.

Usually, when the title of a thread starts with “Which Star Trek characters would you”, the next word is something very different. :o

She looked stunningly sexy & fabulous. What? She needed to do anything else?

My pics…

TOS: Harry Mudd.

Motion Pictures: Scotty - he was great in the original series run. In the movies he was a stupid, bumbling, unfunny “comic relief” character.

TNG: Troi. At least Wesley actually did do something useful once in a while.

DS9: Quark. Stupid character. Blech.

Voyager: EVERY LAST DAMN ONE OF THEM!!!

Enterprise: Never did watch this much, but the asian communications girl was whiney.

Scotty, Worf, Janeway, Jake&Nog, never seen Enterprise.

Most of the Ferrengi and most of the Bajoran religious hierarchy, but mostly Wesley Crusher.

Ben Sisko’s son could grate on my nerves as well, as could some of Odo’s oozing kin.

Also:

Regarding Morn’s demise:

The only death of his I’m aware of occurs in “Who Mourns for Morn?” However, by the end of that episode the viewer learns that Morn had actually faked his death. Was his death shown/revealed somewhere else? It’s been a long time since I watched DS9, and I’m not very familiar with *Voyager *or Enterprise.
