Honestly, the expansion scares me. Mainly because I’ve been aggravated lately by the fact that being a feral druid means i have to DPS, whether or not I want to, because of a stupid tankadin (well, I don’t know about stupid, but it’s aggravating, since I’ve made it clear that I hate the role of melee DPS). I’m hoping that the expansion will change things for the better, but it’s hard to be optimistic right now.

I’ve got all the patches downloaded and installed…but my realm still isn’t showing up. I keep seeing the same realms come on line…then off line.

I got the patch downloaded and installed, and finally got onto my server, only to see them all crash.
I can’t find ETA on when they’ll be back online, but Blizz usually sorts things out pretty quick.
Ravenholdt is still not up. Grrr…I’ve been putzing around with level 1’s so I could see the new stuff. But I’m chomping at the bit to spec my pets.
Hmmm…really hate giving up my precious pyroblast temporarily…but I’m probably going to take your advice when I get the chance. Sadly, that doesn’t appear to be happening anytime soon. I downloaded the patch in about 5 mins…no problem. But now something called “Blizzard Updater” is running…looks like it is installing the files I downloaded…and this thing is slow. 9% Complete over the last 15 minutes or so.
Would you (or anyone else), happen to have a link to a good Deep Arcane spec I can be looking at while waiting? I’ve seen a couple of Elementalist and Frost ones over at Alla, but haven’t seen arcane yet…
It’s a problem with Character Selection.
My guess is that somehow the information that is now supposed to be stored on their servers isn’t being downloaded properly from people’s computers.
At any rate, Blizz says they hope to be up again by 4:30 pm PST.

Well we were going to raid tonight. My tankadin loves the new setup. Unfortunately our realm is one of those not yet even showing on the list. I did the update this morning so as to be on top of things when the realms came back. Yeah. So I’ve got guildies sitting in vent waiting to raid.

I shoulda known not to be so optimistic. So sue me, I’ve been out of the MMORPG thing for so long I forgot things never go according to deadline.
I was thinking about respeccing anyways, but now I wonder which way I should go now that it’s upon me.
Neither of those are updated for the new talents, from what I can tell. My current spec is similar to Bomage…I’m 41/20/0, which gives me Slow…very useful in PVP.
I’m thinking of going 51/10/0 at the moment–basically swapping pyroblast for Arcane Barrage. I’d still have PoM available…but it would now be PoM-Fireball, PoM-Frostbolt, PoM-Arcane Blast instead of the huge numbers I get from PoM Pyro (current record crit is 7.5K, not counting Curator). I think I’ve got enough +damage that Arcane Barrage will possibly out perform Pyroblast…it’s an instant, with a relatively short cool-down, and doesn’t need AP+Trinket+PoM to set it up.
If I go this route, I’d probably grab Pryoblast again as soon as I ding 71…giving me a chain of three heavy damage instants…Pyro+Fireblast+Barrage. Not gonna be much left standing after that…and I’d still have either missles or Ice Lance to finish somebody if needed.
Yeah I know. I should have cast my mind back to the pre BC patch. I’ve got guildies screaming to get back to raiding. I want to do so as well. Especially after tanking on the PTR. Finally being able to solo as a prot pally will be nice as well. Mana regen fixed!
Gonna try out arcane, but I think that the mage class still has a lot of shortcomings that need to be addressed. I’ve had my 66 warrior parked for a while, and I want to try out Titan’s Grip; I wonder if the hit penalty will hurt too much before 70. Parked my priest at 50; gotta try out Devouring Plague and the new Mind Flay.

They say that they have resolved the character retrieval problem and all realms should be playable by 6:00 Eastern.

Cairne is up, so all Burning Dog Legion members can at least get in to check out some of the new stuff. Unfortunately, Elune and Tanaris are both down, and that’s where my main and 2nd main are. Argent Dawn is also having problems…it shows as up and playable, but it can’t retrieve my toons.
Any herbalists…prices are going through the roof! I just put up three stacks of Peacebloom for 50 gold/stack, and those are the cheapest stacks on the AH on Cairne. I figure the market will crash by the end of the weekend, though…so my plan is to sell everything I can.
Well…may hold out on one server and try my hand at inscription…
Hunter stuff! I’ve got a 70 troll hunter.
The druid stuff I’m not sure about yet, because my druid is only level 18.
My husband has 4 Level 70s: Druid, Shaman, Paladin, Mage
Rogue, Warrior and Priest at level 60 and a 64 Warlock.
So he’s got a ton of stuff to look forward to.
