I rolled a throwaway toon on some pvp server just to check out the new harbor in SW. Now I can’t even log in to see if any of my real servers are up. I’m thinking some Blizz staff gonna be making some overtime tonight…
Couldn’t retrieve my characters earlier, so I played Oblivion for a bit. Just tried to log in again but didn’t even get that far. I can’t even check the main WoW forums or the mmo-champion.com site. Hrm.
Who the hell thought it was a good idea to make a patch this goddamn flurgin’ BIG?! After 3 hours of downloading, I’m now looking at an unpacking that’s taken 30 minutes to get to 16%! What the HELL?! They couldn’t background download? They couldn’t push this out in something like 3 or 4 normal-size patches?
They did–I had 98% before the servers went down this morning. It got added to a couple times though–there were at least three stages of it being released.
As for the size…shrugs 2.0 was half a gig itself.
Still can’t get to any of my regular servers other than Cairne. They did not make the 6:00 PM PST target…it’s getting close to 7:00 PM out there now. Kinda sorta reminds me of patch days in Everquest…
Also, apparently the throwaway toon I rolled on a PVP server was actually thrown away…it does not appear to be saved, and the realms list shows me with no toons on that server…
Finally patched up, but I can’t get to the character selection screen on any of the realms I have toons on.
Blizzard sucks. Way to go, guys…you’d think by now you’d have figured out a way to implement a major patch without having everything fall apart.
I’m just petulant enough to demand Blizzard compensate me 50g per stack of herbs in my bank, since I haven’t been able to get on the damn game to put them on the AH…

Okay, I can apparently log on, but my realm is down; and it’s apparently among the last four or so that are down. I’m annoyed, but I can’t say I’m surprised. I guess I’ll watch an act or two of House before trying again. grumble grumble
Finally got in on a throwaway toon and went exploring. Stormwind Harbor is HUGE! And that’s one BIG lion!
Where the hell is Valiance Keep? I asked about Stormwind Harbor from a guard and he mentioned Auberdine and Valiance Keep as destinations from the harbor.
I think that Valiance keep is in Northrend. I bet that on Horde side the new zeppelin engineers are talking about flights to Warsong Hold that don’t yet exist.
Logged in long enough to allocate talent points, but got massively lagged out before I could do any target practice. Everything’s buggy as hell.
I did and I do.
I went 51/10/0. Still miss Pyroblast…but Barrage rocks. It hits harder than Fire Blast, has a faster cool down, and uses less mana. I only had time for 1 battleground tonight after I finally got in, respec’d, ran a few dailys…but I was very pleased with the way the new spec performed in AB. I got 3 achievements in there in one game…“Know thy enemy” for killing one of each race, “Grim Reaper” for 30+ HKs in a single game, and the one for a win in AB. Prolly pretty close to getting the one for killing one of each class.
Deep Arcane seems to bring serious burst damage, and it is only gonna get better when I get pyroblast back at 71. I’d link the spec I used, but WoW Armory hasn’t updated yet.
Wait, we’re talking about the same Blizzard, right? They can’t even manage a minor patch without something going to hell–it’s just the way things are. Something this major, something’s gonna eff up.
And don’t worry about the herbs. No one’s been able to get on long enough to buy them anyways (or, you know, you could send them to me since I never got all my inscription stuff ready…:p)
Up and running, talents done on the tankadin (some interesting and tough choices). ZOMG I can solo things with the new BoS up. No more mana problems. haven’t done the lock, druid, hunter and priest yet but the pally is my main so I’m just happy with that. Taking my guild to raid tonight so we’ll see how stable the server is
I was on for a bit last night. My mods were screwed up beyond hope, so I did WTF folder wipe (I think I saved my AH data, not that it matters much with the new economy). That helped, but now I need to reconfigure everything.
Also, I’m apparently “Ambassador Omencaller” now. I expect the proper amount of respect. 
I pulled my interface folder out of the WoW folder and onto the desktop, then began a new interface folder. I had a lot of crap that I never use making my load screen wait too long anyway. Went looking for mods that I already had that had been updated for 3.0.x. I think I need to fill in some more spaces. At least Bartender and FuBar are updated…those are the major mods for me. And MonkeyQuest seems to be working okay.
Bartender works well, Xperl seems to be working OK. DBM and Bigwigs work. Omen 3 is to be seen later.
World server down low growl got booted without a hint of warning.
On the upside, my mage was 1 XP away from levelling when I logged in, thanks to the changes they made this patch. Looks like I’ll probably make it to 70 before the 13th after all.
I like that the barbers can do facial reconstruction. My toon had hollow cheeks (by “hollow” I mean, the flesh had fallen off and you could see my teeth through them). I was able to go to the barber and get a nice, new, smiling, pale visage.
