yeah, I was a little vague, and exxaggerated a bit in the above rant, but the point stands. I find it funny that some readers have become almost delusional. I’ll tell you all something: I read a site about 2-3 months before I ever post anything to it. I don’t read extensively, but I scope things out. That way, if I feel I won’t fit in, I stay away.
So, anyway, I’m not going to mention any names, since I don’t think it’ll serve any real purpose, but as you read this, and think about what posts I probably just read, you know what I’m talking about.
Now take a step back.
How often does this shit happen? Why does it happen?
flame wars in “good spirit” are fine, and often therapeutic.
biting a troll, and biting hard, well… there’s a reason the mod’s ban certain people.
if people want to troll that badly, I can recommend some excellend sites to go to. SDMB has set about to not be one of those places. If you cannot accept that or respect that, well… fuck off. Maybe harsh, but I think that’s what the mod’s are telling certain people.
Anyway, this topic is sad, and I hate reading all this whining shit about who got banned and why.
If someone gets banned, its not my problem. And its not yours either.
This thread is about someone that just couldn’t wait to get his opinion heard so he starts another thread about the same topic, worded different, same subject. You wonder if people that claim they lurk for a while before they post actually do. It sure is hard to tell that from the way they start out on the boards.

umm… you missed my point. please re-read, and think in broader terms. Yes, I’m being a wee bit pompous here, but that’s all part of it… I never claimed to “lurk”… I claimed to read. Reading is good. You should try it sometime… kinda like all the really crappy threads I read today that made me write this one.

actually, I was making a point about trolling in general. I’ve been around some very, very good trolls. Very clever trolls. They do some excellent work.
In a sense, I suppose this whole thread is a troll.
