I have an ongoing (about 4 years running, now) meme with a friend involving marmots prairie dogs and whistle pigs. This friend also happens to love rye whiskey.

Is Whistle Pig Rye good?

To get a bottle for his birthday will involve me jumping through a bunch of hoops, so I’d like to know in advance if this is a good rye, especially whether it’s good for drinking straight vs mixing.

Had it myself, too – delicious straight up, haven’t tried it in a cocktail, but I’ve heard it’s good there too. No need to add anything to it though, in my opinion, except for maybe a little ice.
