Is Proty’s consciousness still in Lightning Lad and being Lightning Lad ?
No, since the reboot everything started over from scratch. I don’t think that the proteans have even shown up, although I have a vague recollection of a storyline dealing with them. But the Lightning Lad after the reboot was always himself, at least until he died.
It never was. Most Legion fans that I know of simply ignore that story, or assume it was one of those time-changing effects from Zero-Hour (which coming up in a year or two) or a joke by Mopee or something.
There are SO many problems with that story (which was a case of an Idiot Fan Speculation [sup]tm[/sup] that had been around for years that was fun to discuss over a beer but really couldn’t work: one of several that the Bierbaums tossed in) that it couldn’t have happened (the most obvious is that Saturn Girl is the best telepath in the galaxy. And she doesn’t notice that her boyfriend/husband has been brain-swapped by an alien? And neither do ALL the other telepaths the Legion runs across?)
Anyway, no. They haven’t tried this story in the Post-Boot universe.

Actually, looking at some Legion pages, apparently more people accept the story than I thought.
It’s still a stupid story, though.
