Gary Troupe, the guy who got sucked into the engine in the pilot episode of Lost, came out with a book (the draft Sawyer was reading).

The book was Bad Twin.

Dunno if this counts or not, but author Kathy Reichs writes a series of novels about forensic anthropologist Temperance “Bones” Brennan. The TV series Bones is based on the books and in the series the character Bones writes a series of novels about forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs.
