Who among you buys firewood?

(And, is that title grammatically correct? I’m having a brain fart.)
(And yes, I know it’s incorrect to start a sentence with “and.”)

Anyhow.
Do you buy firewood? How much is a full cord, in your neck of the woods? I’m in SE Michigan. It seems astonishingly cheap here. I get a full cord of nicely split (to my specifications no less) hardwood - mostly oak, some cherry. The guy dumps it in my driveway for $55.00, and will stack it for an extra $10.00. I stack it myself, though.
That’s really cheap, isn’t it? This is the first winter in over a decade I’ve bought firewood, and previously in Colorado I recall paying well over $100.00; and that was a long time ago.
I fail to see how this guy makes any money. He cuts it on his own property, loads it, drives his big pickup 70 miles round trip (and gas is $2.50/gallon right now) and dumps a really sweet pile of dry, seasoned wood next to my house.
I almost feel guilty.
And, cherry wood makes my house smell great.

I think that is really cheap.

Around here - very northern CA - a cord runs us from $160 - $260 depending on what kind of wood you get. A mixed cord of oak and madrone is expensive, fir less so.

Think your guy would deliver to here?
