Umm, Caligula?
Dean Corrl?
Ghadaffi?
Bin Ladin? Sorry, but I think there’s a good chance he never lunged for no weapon. Not that I mind what happened.

Along the same lines, Anastasio Somoza Garcia and his son Anastasio Somoza Debayle, both brutal dictators of Nicaragua.
Robert “Mudman” Simon. Three victims including a fellow inmate and a police officer who he shot in the face during a car stop. Stomped to death by an even crazier inmate while on death row in NJ. AMF.
So 14-year old kids with records deserve to be killed? Or just the black ones? What the fuck?
I agree. There’s zero in that story that indicates that kid deserved to die.
Yeah, I was looking at his picture thinking what a stereotypic cute 14 year old , , , then I realized why he needed killed. ![]()
I’m feeling a little bad about the flippant snoring comment just now.
Yeah, I looked up the name, but there doesn’t seem to be much I can find out about what he did, just about the case surrounding his death. All I can find in the wikipedia article is that he stole his grandmother’s car and some candy, and violated a curfew. Definitely doesn’t seem to be anything that strikes me as someone that deserved to be killed.
So I guess that just leaves his being black. Unless nearwildheaven would like to elaborate?
To give nearwildheaven the benefit of the doubt, he could be referring to this part:
“a case that led to the dismantling of Florida’s military-style detention system for young offenders.”
I.e., the martyrdom was worth the cost.
As someone who doesn’t know nearwildheaven, I can’t say whether that’s the reading he intended, and given that I’ve never been in “Florida’s miliaty-style detention system”, I’m unable to offer any opinion on whether this system needed to be gotten rid of so badly.
Alas, no. See the following: "Many times, I asked them, “Had he gotten out, would you have wanted him at your kids’ school? Dating your daughter(s)? Would you take him into your home if he had no place to go?”
Just to be clear, Martin Lee Anderson’s crimes were as follows: he stole his grandmother’s car, violated curfew, and stole some candy. But he might, one day, have dated your daughter!
Welcome to the SDMB, where we discuss black children who needed to die.
I didn’t read the Wiki page, and didn’t know this had happened.
And his race had NOTHING to do with it.
This board had, and still has, lots of threads and posts about juvenile crime, and there’s a lot of “throw the book at them” going on.
Like I said earlier, I believed then and now that the people who did this to the boy needed to be prosecuted, but I also don’t think they did this to someone who had much of a future. Guess it’s too late to find out now, is it? :o
So someone who “doesn’t have much of a future” deserves to die?
When wheel-chair-bound passenger Leon Klinghofer was thrown over the side by Palestinian hijackers aboard the Achile Lauro, there are reports of a smattering of muted applause among the passengers.
Nothing here seems to clarify how he “deserved to die”. :dubious: Is this some kind of sick joke?
Of course, nothing “here” does. Contemporary news reports at the time implied that some passengers found Klinghoffer such an annoying traveling companion that if one had to go, they were happy enough that it was Klinghoffer. Its fun to pay attention to news reports shot from the hip, and remember them later after they get scrubbed and sanitized.
How can a thread on this topic possibly escape the sick-joke handle as soon as somebody gets mentioned who is not already an approved unanimous contender. You’re lucky I didn’t put at least one president on the list.
Lots of humans seem to take pleasure in somebody else getting it.
I suppose it comes from an attitude that the total amount of ignorant violence in the world is a fixed quantity. So they think that every time it happens to somebody else, that’s one less change of it happening to me. You know, the only important person on the planet.
In bulk, there are a lot of not very thoughtful people out there.
The book Life with Billy tells the story of Canadian Jane Hurshman Corkum who killed her abusive husband Lamont William “Billy” Stafford in 1982, for which and for being acquitted of his murder. The Crown appealed, concerned with the legal precedent, and Corkum pleaded guilty to manslaughter, receiving a six-month sentence. She was released after two months. If one-ihalf of what she relates in the book is ture, that son of a bitch deserved to die.
Sadlly, on February 23, 1992, Corkrum’s body was found in a car on the Halifax waterfront, dead from a single gunshot wound
