Rod Serling
Quite a few famous people went to my school (I posted in the last thread), but I recently discovered I was there at the same time as the Operative from Serenity (Chiwetel Ejiofor). Don’t remember him, though.
J Robinson is strictly not. He’s the head coach of a top-ranked wrestling program, as well as being the jerk usually credited with the statement that college athletes are there to compete, and if they want a real degree they can get a masters.
I went to a public, agricultural boarding school in Sydney’s south-west, called Hurlstone Agricultural High School.
Our most notable alumni are probably politicians John Kerin (former minister in various federal Labor governments) and Mark Latham (former leader of the Australian Labor Party), as well a group of entertainers who make up the execrable pop group called Human Nature.
There are also a couple of sports people: David Lyons, who played for the Australian rugby union team, and Melanie Lees, who was a captain of the Australian women’s Olympic field hockey team.
As would be expected from a small town school, there is absolutely no one worth mentioning. It does have a Wikipedia entry that explains why this is so.
Quite a few pro athletes but no household names.
Chipper Jones, who should breeze into the Baseball HoF without much of a fuss…
For 60’s types, there’s also Gram Parsons.
Only one I’ve heard of is Marion Ross (yo, Mrs. C!).
Point Loma HS, San Diego
Frank Gifford
Earl Warren
I might have heard about that last guy…
Divine and Michael Phelps went to the same high school? Weird.
AFAIK, the most notable alumni from my HS are Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders, actress Melina Kanakaredes (NYPD Blue, Providence), and Judith Resnick, America’s second (I think) woman in space, who later died in the Challenger disaster.
Oh, hey, look at that – Wikipedia says Angie Everhart, too. She’s only four years older than me, so we probably knew folks in common.

I live in Englewood, New Jersey, home of Dwight Morrow High School, attended by John Travolta and graduated Bruce Harper, who played for the Jets.
I know Bruce and met Travolta when they did a Career Day at the school.
I split time between two high schools. The first has a Wikipedia page, but nobody listed there I’ve heard of. Not listed is MTV “VJ” Kennedy.
The second has the guy who wrote Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, the guy who played Alex in The Last Starfighter, singer/songwriter Vienna Teng, and some guy named Steven Spielberg. He transfered in and hated it, just like me!
Me.
The most famous are football players, Joe Theisman, Drew Pearson, Troy Hill, and a few others. We’ve also had mysterey writers. I don’t know for a fact that they attended my high school, but Janet Evanovich (she of the Stephanie Plum numbered mysteries) grew up in my town. Troy Soos, who wrote baseball-flavored mysteries, played Little League in my town*.
I can’t say for certain that he attended high school there (although he probably did – my gym teacher had the same last name), but Joseph Csatari certainly lived in my town. Who? you say. He’s the guy who took over Normal Rockwell’s commissions after he died, and in the same style.
*There was intense competition for Little League in my town. You had to try out and qualify. If you didn’t, or you didn’t make the grade, you had to play JFK League or Shorty League.
I am so proud to say:
No one.
No one famous ever graduated from my High School that I know of. The High School opened over 45 years ago so it has had time to have someone notable graduate but none have.
There really was no one famous from the high schools I attended. But after a little more research I found that the world famous(infamous) Billy Mays attended the same university as me. Now aren’t you all just a little jealous?
I went to Bronx High School of Science. There’s too many famous alumni to type in, so here they are:
Kid (from Kid N’ Play) and Scott Ian (from Anthrax) were in my class. Jon Cryer was a year behind me, and Jon Favreau was 2 years behind me.
Candace Bushnell, author of Sex and the City, and
Amy Brenneman, Emmy-nominated actress,
came to mind right away. Wikipedia also lists Michelle Lombardo, model, whom I’ve never heard of.
According to Wikipedia, the notable alumni from my medium-sized suburban public high school are:
*Sherry Coban, creator of the 1980s situation comedy Kate & Allie.
*Billy Hunter (born 1942), former wide receiver in the NFL for the Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins.
*Ali Larter (born 1976), actress who appears in Heroes and on film in Legally Blonde.
*Aaron Lazar (born 1976), famous actor who appears in A Tale of Two Cities and in Les Misérables
That’s four more notable alumni than I could come up with on my own.
