Well, you weren’t overly judgmental, so you’ve got that in your favor (otherwise, it would have been “especially the Dutch”).
Animal poachers. Especially those rhino poachers who are causing the black rhino to go extinct.
ETA: Anybody to willingly and maliciously hurts a child or animal, IMHO.
People who leave a mess in public restrooms have to be up there.
The dude in the lorry who cut me off at 50 mph (whilst I was doing 70) yesterday, too busy texting to do pesky things like look in his mirror, signal, or shoulder check his blind spot, wasn’t a teen.
ETA content: people who send me emails at 16.55 on a Friday afternoon, screaming at me about deadlines for a project that has to be done by Monday morning – this is invariably the first I’ve heard about this form/project/essay/document (mostly due to their own laziness), and of course, if I try to reply for more information, they’ve gone home for the day. This counts double for stuff from the bank or insurance company, or anything else that provokes anxiety and what-the-fuckedness and can’t be addressed for another 56 hours. Bonus anger points to people who do it on the Friday before a bank holiday.
I don’t want to defend them, but they do not exist in a vacuum. They’ve been brought up in a society where, if they don’t do that, the lives and prospects (marriage/business) of they and their other close kin (other children, other siblings) will be/may be negatively affected. So their justification to that would be that they are doing it to protect their closest relatives, just not the one they kill.
Granted, there are those who do honor killings in places where their families wouldn’t be negatively affected. In that case, yea, they’re just trying to follow a custom they don’t need to follow.
Well…
My usual choice to use as a random nationality that has never done me harm who I will pick on for humorous purposes are the Belgians. But since I replied to this thread right before the US v. Belgium game I didn’t want it to seem like I was picking them for an actual reason. So you became collateral damage. It had to be done I feel no remorse.
But… but… but…
There are so many excellent reasons to hate us.
We hired the portugese to sell slaves in the americas. We funded Boko Haram (Shell did, one way or the other) We’re total assholes on the soccerpitch (at least: we strive to be). Don’t just say we got picked on because you took pity on the Belgians (or is it because you are afraid?)
We’re perfectly capable of being assholes in our own right!
You realize how ridiculous this assertion is in light of…well, reality. Right? ![]()
You know…Dutch stuff!
Aren’t they going to the special hell?
Most of my candidates have already been listed, but I see that no one else has mentioned my ex-wife yet. . .
The evil bastard who invented the leaf blower. And all his henchmen who invade my neighborhood when I’m trying to sleep in.
There is no doubt in my mind that BobLibDem truly believes that Tea Partiers are worse than the Isis folks running around in the middle east crucifying people.
My vote for the worst people in the world are those that reflexively label those who disagree with them as evil and assign all kinds of motives to their opposition without really trying to understand the people behind the politics/religion.
This covers a shitload of people, from the Islamic jihadists to extreme partisans on both sides in the U.S. The kind of shallow , idiology based thinking that the exermists use allows them to dehumanize their opponents. And when.that happens it is just a short jump to believing that crucifiction is a fine thing to do to those evil <insert group here>.
Of course, I expect it will never go away. It is intellectually easier to dismiss those you disagree with as evil than to really try and understand their point of view. And from the emotional side, many people seem to find comfort in setting themselves up as superior based upon some self assigned group membership. The leaders know this and play to it. Critical thinking is discouraged and questioning the party line is considered treason, except for within some narrow, and arbitrary areas. So it turns into a giant partisan circle jerk.
Thankfully, at least in the U.S., the extreme partisans seem to be a minority on both sides. They are loud and get a lot of attention for being loud. That sucks because the extreme partisans pull each side further away from the center. However we seem to have enough sane people in the middle to temper the extremists a bit.
Other areas aren’t so lucky.
Slee
ISIS, Boko Haram, the North Koreans, the Saudis
