Congratulations, you are owned yet again.
Thanks for the update! Merton sounds like he is very much loved.
My yellow cat is Atilla. Maybe yours could have the name of some other barbarian leader.
I did once have a cat named for my favorite cat story ever, Tobermory, by H.H. Munro, aka Saki. That cat could talk.
He’s actually a very mellow-tempered cat, who doesn’t appear to be into fighting at all. Warlord names wouldn’t suit at all.
[ETA: think I just remembered the Tobermory story. Feline blackmail, wasn’t it?]
I wouldn’t call it blackmail; it’s not like he wanted or asked for anything. At least he doesn’t get coldly murdered like his mistress ![]()
I think I’m remembering the wrong story. I’m pretty sure I’ve got a collected Saki around; I’ll have to go look.
Or I could be lazy and look online.
Update, mostly because I was thanking somebody else for an update about a cat who showed up at a door, and it made me think of this thread:
Merton is doing fine. He and the Other Tom have wild wrestling games which they obviously both enjoy greatly, interspersed with washing each other. The No-Longer-Just-Visiting-Yes-She-Lives-Here-Now cat is less happy, as she doesn’t like to wrestle, but has initiated an occasional chase game and is clearly not afraid of Mert, just sometimes annoyed by him; she’ll comfortably hang out in the same room that he’s in.
Mert sleeps on my bed every night. We’re both pleased about that.
Aaaah. Warm fuzzies.
