Who are your favorite cast members from Cheers? (Multiple choice)

 1. Sam: Ted Danson was indeed brilliant. The bit where he dreams that he’s about to score with Rebecca, but can’t get his pants off…so he utlizes the fireplace poker for assistance? Makes me laugh out loud just thinking about it.

 2. Cliff. Two favorite Cliff moments: “Shiny shoes…” & him trying to get into Diane’s dress by singing “Misty” to her.

 3. Coach. Favorite Coach scene was mentioned by Folacin above.

It’s kind of a shame Frasier didn’t feature her more often.

Well that might be a result of the word “favorite” in the poll. Is Diane someone I’d like to have dinner with. No! I’d probably strangle her. But she was a great character.

Well Diane was really smart too. I guess smart+cold > smart+annoying.

I saw this show on it’s original run. I never missed it if I could avoid it. It was one of my favorites. I have no idea who Paul Krapence was.

Okay, I found some pictures. I know who he was. I even remember that he was named Paul. But I don’t recall a last name ever being mentioned.

You just answered your own question.

Norm!

My favorite Norm scene…
There’s an episode where the gang is at a bowling alley, bowling in some competition (my memories are a bit hazy on the details). Attached to the bowling alley is a bar, Norm walks in and everyone shouts “Norm!”.

Later, the gang confronts him and asks “How do these people know you?!”

“I have a life, you know,” he replies.
Yes indeedy.

Woody called him Mr. Krapence. Woody called just about everybody but Sam and Carla by title and last name.

One of my favorite exchanges (paraphrasing from memory):
Diane: “Methinks thou protest too much.”

Woody: “Shouldn’t that be ‘I think’, Miss Chambers?”

Diane: “Not in your case, Woody.”
mmm

My favorite Norm scene:

Somebody walks into the bar, and says he hasn’t been there for years (10? 20? at least before Sam bought the place). He commented on some feature of the bar. Sam was confused - the old timer says: Right behind Norm.

As I recall, Woody’s correction was:

“Shouldn’t that be I thinks?”

It was Carla who supplied the punchline.

Yeah, that sounds right. Thanks.
mmm

Since we’re sharing Norm stories, here’s one of my favorites.

Norm was sitting at the bar talking to Sam and he says “You know, some people have no life. Some guy sat next to me here for 6 hours yesterday!”
