This is the Final Poll that Bob Ducca and I have come up with to find the SDMB’s Favorite Characters from the TV Series “The Wire.”

Bubbles is by far my favorite character, and Andre Royo deserved an Emmy. (The fact that The Wire never won a single Emmy is rediculous.)
Agreed. I find it peculiar that two people have not voted for Omar!
I realize that picking just five sucks, but it’s better than trying to get just one out of this amazing list.

Dang - I think I might have rather gone with Lester than D’Angelo.
Had it not been for his out-of-character shenanigans in season 5, Lester would have made my list. As it is, I went with Bodie for my fifth pick.
The top 3 were the only locks, Stringer was a semi-lock after that, and then I didn’t know what to do with #5. Considered avoiding the cliché by giving Slim Charles a nod, but ultimately that just wouldn’t have been accurate. Maybe if he’d had a few more opportunities to shoot Cheese in the head…
Bunk, Bubbles and Omar were my no-brainers. After that, I picked Slim Charles - he just had some great moments. I was going to pick Frank Sobotka for #5, but since he was only in season 2, I went with Prez for my last pick. I don’t know, if Jay Landsman had been an option, I might’ve picked him.
It is REALLY hard to choose favorites when there are so many well-written, perfectly-acted characters. When I see the actors in other roles, I still think of them as their “Wire” characters.
Yeah, it was really weird to see Stringer Bell show up on The Office, wasn’t it?!

I would’ve chosen Landsman over D’Angelo had he been an option. D’s story was so tragic that he needs some love.
I’m surprised that McNulty isn’t getting more votes. Dominic West was awesome - I was very surprised to find out that he’s British.
I think McNulty and Freamon aggressively earned negative points with the fake serial killer scam. Actually, I think that entire plot line was extremely stupid.
Only picking 5 was surprisingly hard. Ranking them was surprisingly easy.
1)Omar - by a lot.
2)Stringer - far behind Omar but far ahead of the rest
3)Lester
4)Bubbles (almost tied with Lester)
5)Prop Joe - who doesn’t get enough love for being the bad ass that he was

Agreed, and it’s why McNulty ultimately lost the 5 spot to Prop Joe for me.
Yeah, it would’ve been awesome if Michael had decided that Charles needed to get got. That whole season would’ve played out very differently.
Looks like the real battle is for third place.
