Who can identify a pub(s) in Dublin (based on virtually no information)?

I just noticed a BBC article on the “Top 5 Pubs in Dublin.” My wife and I were in Dublin for a week in 2014, staying at a B&B in Ballsbridge. We took the train into town to visit some pubs, take tours, catch transportation to breweries, distilleries, etc., and so we ate at a couple centrally-located pubs. We can’t for the life of us remember their names.

One pub had a table(s) with dark red pressed tin on the walls on two sides and some old maps behind glass on the other. The pressed tin was a floral/vine pattern. It was a small table, almost in an alcove. The menu was also dark red. The trim was dark wood. The fish stew was excellent. It must have been pretty close to the train stop, as we didn’t wander too far to find it. I think we actually went there twice.

The other pub (or it could have been the same one…we’re old, you know) had lots of framed pictures and then a large number of signed bills (currency) from different countries behind glass. I think the bills were on both sides of our table in the corner.

I might possibly have some pics from one or the other tucked away somewhere. Like many tourists, we would take pictures of our food and of each other, but neglected to take pictures of the interior or the exterior of the places we visited and enjoyed so much.

Thanks so much for giving this some thought!

I think you would need to go to a more specialized forum such as the Reddit sub-reddit Dublin:

Good suggestion!

Could it be The Brazen Head?

GuanoLad, you are absolutely correct! My wife and I recognized it as soon as we saw a couple pics on their site.

One down, one to go.

Cool! I found Mulligan’s Pub. Looks like red pressed tin in a floral vine pattern to me.

Good try, but the tin was lower and was more like vines.

I may have to break a vow and use Imgur for this…. Here you go:
