Ehh… a raw onion might be a “condiment”… but onions raw and cooked are essential “ingredients” and enhancers. You simply discredit the noble onion.
I’ve always liked cooked onions, including onion rings. For a while I made grilled cheese and onion sandwiches in our electric waffle maker (after changing the waffle plates with flat plates, sillies). But it wasn’t until I was about 19 that I started liking raw onions. Now when I chop them up for hot dogs, I’ll eat a few pieces by themselves.
