Who in the police department (or is it someone else?) decides how long to persue a case.
Like with OJ Simpson, since he was found not guilty does the LA police look?
I imagine they do a priority, like a murder takes top priority I would guess. But how long do they look?
Are there any problems if they quit looking and someone else does it. Take Scott Peterson for examply now on death row. Supposing he didn’t do it like he says, and that real killer goes out and kills someone else. Could the vitctim’s family make a case against the police department that they should’ve been looking?
