You are correct, but that $10 Canadian = about $9.70 US, so it’s close enough.
Pretty soon it will be exactly par, or the CND dollar will be worth more anyway.
Believe me, I want American money to increase in value (since I get paid in US)
The lower it goes, the less I get after converting it to Canadian funds.
Approx 5 years ago when I sold US money to my bank, $1 US got me $1.60 CND.
Last week, the same $1 US got me $1.03 CND ~ Someone stop the pain! LOL
I should get my parents to call you. They live in Henderson Place. The guy who’s supposed to do their lawns comes by twice a month if they’re lucky. He’s doing an awful job.
Here in the Boston area, the cleaners in buildings are typically Central American or Brazilian. The painters are all Brazilian, the flooring guys are all Vietnamese, the people working in Dunkin’ Donuts are all Brazilians, Indians, or SIWPs (standard-issue white people). The union construction jobs are overwhelmingly white, I’d guess largely Irish-American. In food service, it’s a bit of a mix. Most of the people cooking (even in ethnic restaurants, except for Chinese) seem to be Hispanic. Servers, mostly SIWP, with a smattering of all other ethnicities. Home-health aides and cleaning techs in the hospitals seem to be mostly from the English-speaking Caribbean, or Haiti. Landscapers, a mix of Hispanic and white. House cleaners are usually Brazilian.
