Who /doesn't/ love Qadgop?

Alright, I have to make a confession. I think I love Qadgop the Mercotan. In a totally platonic he’s-the-best-poster kind of way.

I’ve loved reading every one of his posts, which are always eloquent and well informed. He doesn’t hesitate to give medical advice when needed or gently correct us when we get a factoid or fifteen wrong.

He also regaled us with the awesome tales of his job at the prison, which had me completely riveted.

Raises a glass To Qadgop, the best SDMB MD around!

Sorry, I’m too busy contemplating the irony of a dude named Speaker for the Dead praising a doctor.

Well, I certainly do, he does pay my tuition and all.

He once put a small bottle of lime juice on his head while we were standing at the fridge talking and declared, “I’m sublime!”

I think that by itself would be enough to win my eternal admiration. You know, even if he WEREN’T my dad.

I think I’ve just fallen for him all over again.

chuckles Sublime indeed.

Yes, Qadgop always does add something with his posts. He’s definetly an asset to the boards.

I love him for his fashionable taste in hats.

Yep - Quagdop = a Good Thing.

 re. the lime. Now, had it been lemon, would he have been "sublemonal?

Orange you glad you thought of that? I am

Qadgop is a cool frood.

Let’s see, a few inmates to whom I wouldn’t supply narcotic pain killers don’t seem to hold me in high regard. Fortunately, I have my own posse to protect me in prison!

Seriously, thanks for the Kudos, all. I do try to avoid giving advice, since the electronic forum here is not that conducive to diagnosing problems. I try to remember to give information instead. But being a know-it-all control freak, I occasionally cross the line and try to tell people what to do.

And some of my well-informed posts have turned to be flat-out wrong (gosh, that stings!) Such as when I began to get annoyed with a poster who didn’t accept my answer. Of course, my answer had nothing to do with his question, a fact I didn’t even notice, being filled with righteous anger that my wisdom wasn’t being heeded! And I don’t care to mention the “calories in alcohol” debacle either.

Mrs. Mercotan and I were just discussing limes last night, as a matter of fact. I was lamenting that fact that citrus came only in 4 flavors: Lemon, Lime, Orange, and Grapefruit. (I feel tangerines aren’t different enough from Orange to merit special distinction.) Such a versatile class of fruit ought to come in more flavors.

On the one hand, a guy from Wisconsin who seems to have a genuine taste for spicy foods…

…On the other, he likes Vegemite.

I think he is one seriously messed up dude.

Re. the sad lck of citrus fruits - wouldn’t kumquats coutn as citrus? And they are nice.

Qad’s one of the resources the board draws upon. Go, pal, go.

Well, nothing personal against him, but he is a doctor at a prision - I don’t think inmates should get any sort of medical care. But that’s not his fault.

This morning I had an english muffin with butter, 3 year old cheddar, ostrich summer sausage, vegemite, poached egg, and chipotle tabasco sauce. Yum!

And speak more of these Kumquats of which you speak.

I think Qadgop rocks!

From his sage advice, excellent writing and prison stories, he is a man that makes this place a better place just by being here.

I would aspire to be more like him but working with prisoners gives me a case of the willies.

BTW, how is your renter/neighbor who lost her husband ( and child/ren?) in that horrible accident?

Um, isn’t the fact of being inprision in itself the punishment? And it is not unheard of for prison inmates later to be found innocent.

Jesus, DreadCthulhu, are you trying to take my title as the most hard-hearted bastard of the SDMB? I think what you suggest would definitely be unconstitutional (as cruel and unusual punishment).

Also, I couldn’t agree with the OP more.

Depending on one’s local shops, they may not be easy to find though.

Isn’t the trusty mandarin as ubiquitous there as it is here? It’s my second favourite for eating and outright favourite for aroma.
