Who else doesn't have a clue about...

…the boards “recent unpleasantness?”

I’ll start. I opened one of the couple dozen threads on the subject, and quickly got bored. I just don’t care. I don’t care about board rules, nor do I care about who is or isn’t a “mod” or an “admin” or anything else like that. I’ve never used the “report this post” button, and I’ve never sent to or received email from a moderator.

Here’s what I know - Tuba Diva did something that got her(?) crosswise with a poster whose name I don’t know, and did something that got an awful lot of people fired up. She also served a month long sentence of some sort.

I am not looking for a recap of the situation (please), but I am curious to know how many others on the boards feel like I do. I like this place for the collective knowledge and humor, and I love to see a good trainwreck, but the rules and the drama don’t do a thing for me.

Me.

I read a little when the events first took place and quickly got bored with the whole concept.

Now I just ignore the threads.

I care just a teeny tiny bit. I know just enough to be aware that an actual judgement was made, rather than blind enforcement of a “zero tolerance” policy. I consider that a Good Thing. Beyond that, enough is enough.

**Drachillix ** explored it a bit, but I never did have a clue.

I know, but I don’t care. Can I join?

Don’t know (much). Don’t care.

What she ^ said

Seems like high school politics. I come to this board to learn about things and sometimes be opinionated. I don’t come here to partake in weird social drama. It’s just a message board.

I pretty much know what happened and I’ve followed it somewhat in the threads. I’m a little concerned but mostly sad. I was hoping that these things (the actual incident and the following outrage) wouldn’t happen on these boards. But I don’t let it taint my feelings either way.

I don’t think this is the right forum for this thread.

I know something on the subject, but I don’t give a care about it.

It’s like the OJ case. If you were actually out doing stuff on that Friday night, and never saw the damn car chase thing, and didn’t actually know what anyone was talking about until a few days later, you could never get into the whole rigamarole.

Same thing here.

Barbarian, that was an EXCELLENT way to put it. And is exactly the way I feel.

I think there might be a timeline cut-off issue. I was following the original thread, so I witnessed everything before the shit hit the fan, and then kind of watched it unravel like seeing a bad car wreck. Er, like Barbarian said. Bravo! That’s the second time in three days he’s summarized my thoughts so eloquently. I may defer all posting.

Sexual politics is a hobby of mine, so I always show up, with fruitcake.

Count me in as an “eh.” attitude. I suspect that the degree of outrage is more having to do with the high profile poster (TubaDiva) rather than the actual crime committed. If I would be convicted of murder, most around here would say, “Ruby who?”

I’m hoping the drama lowers to a dull roar soon so that we can get back to the more important business of being intelligent, witty, smartasses.

Another meh. I missed it, it doesn’t seem to be affecting me, I’m not going to go dig it up. I don’t like to see fighting.

I’ve got an idea what happened, don’t really care though.

I believe it was an important issue and when it surfaced I spent some effort to educate myself on what had happened, on which issues the sides were divided and what the resolution was. But . . . the minutia upon which people appear to still thrive and the extent of their outrage just confirms the notion that we’re all wired a bit differently. I’ve definately reached the point of wishing to never hear another word about it again.
