I am. I admit, I’ve come back to school after 23 years, and my studying skills and exam skills are rusty.
But phew! What a challenge! I’m studying law, and honestly, I hope I do not flunk out. Today, I wrote a Criminal Law exam. Last Wednesday was Constitutional Law. Monday is Torts, Wednesday is Contracts, Friday is Property. These are 100%, all-the-stuff-from-last-September exams. And already I’m beat.
How I wish I could go back to those happy days of Undergrad, and plod about the Use of Imagery in Shakespeare, or the Causes of the Russian Revolution. Nope, this time around, I’m constitutionally justifying criminal law (the Oakes Test), and analyzing what will happen if A knifes B in a sensitive spot accidentally. Then B , who is a Jehovah’s Witness, bleeds to death because B has refused a blood transfusion. And the attending physician botches what procedures she is given consent to do by B. Is A liable for manslaughter? If the arresting officers questioned A without informing of his Charter section 11 (d) rights, is A’s evidence obtained through questioning admissable in court?
I have three exams to go. And the idea of showing up at the factory, punching my card and doing my job, is looking pretty good about now. But I will continue on. I hope I will be in school next year!
Any other Dopers dealing with finals right about now?
Finals week in two weeks for me. Though, I’m still in high school. But it is college-like… Although, actually, the college schedule makes finals week easier for us. Five classes in one week. Tons of free time for studying and whatnot.
… I’m really tired. Probably shouldn’t be posting in this state. Hope this wasn’t too bad.
I have my first graduate school final exam on Tuesday, and all my outstanding assignments are due Tuesday as well. Good luck to everyone taking finals, and hopefully we can soon enjoy a few drinks with friends, and sleep in peace.
I got luckier than usual this semester. With the program I’m in, my core courses rarely have any final exam. My electives often do, though not always, and it’s about a 50/50 chance of them being in class vs. during exam season.
This semester, I wound up with one exam, on the last day of semester (IOW, in class), followed only by a paper due the week after. I’ve been pretty much done for two weeks now.
Right here. I’ve got four exams in five days left and I’m dead tired already. It’s at this point where I wonder how I’m going to make through and I somehow always do. Though I end up spending the days afterwards recovering.
One more semester after this though and I’m done forever. Give me my iron ring and release me to the world.
I’ve got my Medicine and Surgery clinical finals on Monday and Tuesday morning.
I’ll know whether I’ve passed at 2pm on the day, and will get my actual marks back on Thursday afternoon.
All being well, that means I’ll wake up on Friday morning as a very hungovver doctor.
I’m at the almost-complacent-I can’t-do-anymore-work-nobody-fails-these-things-anyway stage. Which is dangerous.
