Who else loves Christmas horror movies?

It’s just about that time of year when my favorite movie genre meets the most wonderful time of the year.

Christmas Evil
All Through the House
Saint
Black Christmas
Good Tidings
To All a Good Night
Silent Night Deadly Night
Silent Night
Santa’s Slay

There are more, but these will be on my playlist this year.

(Gremlins doesn’t count… too cutesy)

Discuss???

I can’t think of any Christmas horror stories off the top of my head but I’ll keep checking this thread for suggestions of stuff to watch.

Die Hard?

I love all horror movies, including Christmas ones. My favorite is probably A Christmas Horror Story with William Shatner. It was on Netflix last year; I’m hoping it comes back for the upcoming season.

Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale

Here’s the original short from 2003, which led to the feature film seven years later.

Certainly not a horror movie.

Edited to add, there’s also the movie Krampus.

AND not a Christmas movie

Not exactly horror, but still a great Christmas time flick. Accepted.

That was good, very atmospheric.

Awesome, that’s one I hadn’t heard of. I’ll definitely find and watch it.

Yeah, it’s not the most advertised, or commercially viable sub-genre… something about ruining Santa Claus for kids, the li’l twerps. :stuck_out_tongue:

But they’re out there, and if you want 'em bad enough, you’ll find 'em. There’s a couple stinkers, but most are actually good… at least as far as horror movies go. I’ll vouch for all on my list.

That’s another one I haven’t seen yet… add it to my list.

I feel like there’s a movie called Jack Frost, that’s not a family comedy. That has to be right, doesn’t it?

7% on the Tomatometer.

What, no Krampus?

A couple more from 2007:

P2
Rachel Nichols works too late on Christmas Eve and gets taken hostage by the insane garage attendant. Comme ci comme ça.

Wind Chill
College kids ride-share home for Christmas but get stuck on an abandoned road. I liked it a lot, but I’ve always been a big fan of Emily Blunt so my opinion may be skewed.
Plus several of the ones already mentioned in this thread. How much do I love Christmas horror movies? I’ll soon be watching Anna and the Apocalypse even though I despise musicals.

Also, I guess maybe Gremlins counts?

Googling around to jog my memory of others I’ve seen:

The Children (2009)
The family Christmas holiday takes a turn when all the young kids turn into murderous psychopaths. I’ve seen this at least twice; good murdery fun. (It’s not a comedy in any way.)
That same googling turned up the following as highly recommend, but I haven’t seen it. Note: The recommendations make a point to not say anything about it for fear of spoiling it.

Dead End (2003)
Leads are Ray Wise and Lyn Shaye? Sold!

That one was exceptional; Shatner was outstanding.

Holidays,” is an anthology flick; the Xmas one is funny, kinda.

See post #6.

Santa’s Slay has Bill Goldberg playing a demon Santa that kills Fran Drescher by lighting her hair on fire.

Jack Frost has a murderous snowman that rapes a woman in the shower by using a carrot as his dick.

I only know these things from reading WrestleCrap.
