Sure, it got old seeing it thread after thread. But the first time I saw it, “this post has been graped by the grapist”, that was just hilarious and had me dyin’ the first time around. Anyone else?
The thing is, s/he was probably a returning troll. “The Hamburglar” was one of the previous incarnations, and I think there were more. Basically the same thing, but a different inane thing done to each post, usually removing a given letter (all the "r"s).
Not a bad idea for an isolated joke, but tiresome. However, you may find his/her thread in the Pit pretty funny, since it’s spawned a bunch of parodies.
I thought it was pretty funny but it was also the kinda thing that gets real old, real fast. Stuff like that’s best nipped in the bud early IMO. At least that way we can all make truly atrocious puns before the joke turns umm…sour 
Looks like y’all feel like I did. It was pretty funny, but I probably wouldn’t find it nearly as amusing a few weeks from now if it had continued. Good thing it was stopped.

Hilarious? No way. I was mildly entertained (if it is possible to modify mildly and save VERY mildly, then let me so modify it), but to say it got old after … etc, is an understatment. It was annoying very quickly.
I only thought it was funny because I knew the Grapist would be banned pretty soon. It would be a lot less funny if it lasted.

Everytime I saw it I laughed for at least 10 minutes. I wish he was still around.

Wow. Some people are amused by the most inconsequential things.
I was scrolling through a thread and noticed something in purple, and caught a vague “I’ve done something to this post!” vibe as I scrolled by. This caused me to back up and read it. I was mildly amused, and at that point I noted that he was already banned.
Thus, an intriguing little diversion; whenever you see a post on the boards that completely stands out like that, by existing completely outside the SDMB scene, its an interesting pher-nom-eee-non.
Funny for about .05 picoseconds.

I thought it was funny, if for no other reason than the Onion reference. But, only once. After that, it’s just stupid.
I thought it was childishly amusing, until I saw the spew of responders jumping on the pun bandwagon, then I thought it was funny, then I got disgusted, then I took my pill (the purple one) then I mellowed out and it didn’t bother me that people would feen said poster’s ego by going on and on about it, like I am.

I liked it. I thought of it more or less as reactionary humor. That is, watching people’s initial reactions of mild amsument, which slowly degraded into firey indignation as the gimmick continued with no change or variation. It’s kind of funny to watch people get so throughly discomposed over something so trivial. Juvenile? Sure.
