Who Else Would You Like to See Write a Simpsons Episode?

Joe Queenan.

Sandra Bernhardt.

P. J. O’Rourke.

Mickey Spillane

Aye Crom-ba!

Warren Ellis
Laurell K. Hamilton
Hell, Stan Lee

Edgar Allen Poe?

We can dust him off in a jiffy.

Frank Miller would be interesting. “Sin(pson) City.”

From the dearly departed, William Shakespeare, which would then have to be reprised by Akira Kurosawa.

Takashi Miike.

Hopefully it would be the LAST Simpsons episode ever.

I really wish they’d take this idea. The show has grown so stale it’s depressing. Doing something wierd and experimental like this would, if not make it good again, at least make it a more interesting sort of bad.

Any one watch the last season of the Drew Carey show? Their ratings were tanking, so they just went off in all sorts of weird directions with it. I wish more shows had the balls to do that sort of thing when they felt themselves starting to slip.

I heard that Peter Jackson’s three hour screenplay was pure genius, but Fox couldn’t find a suitable place in the schedules

William Shakespeare:

He’s already guest-directed an episode of Itchy & Scratchy.

I wonder if some of these reccommended writers would feel restricted, due to the FCC standards, and not write their best. But some of them are good suggestions. I wouldn’t mind seeing a black humored episode of the Simpsons.
