I don’t know if it is common knowledge or not but interestingly Charles Whitman requested in the note I believe he left with the bodies of his mother and wife that an autopsy be performed on him because he knew something was wrong with him and they discovered he had a tumor on his frontal lobe, some doctors I believe speculated that this may have been at least partially responsible for why he went on the shooting spree and that he could no longer control his impulses.
Obviously not, because there was nothing in that link about taking over the world.
