Who have you NOT heard express his or her opinion on the attacks? We have heard all the living X-Presidents (except Reagan, of course). We have heard from nearly EVERY Senator. Heck, even Gary Condit was at the big memorial service (I kept thinking he should lose the blow dry golf-pro hair cut). Help me out. I haven’t seen Bob Dole speak word one. Have you guys? Did I miss him? I can’t see Dole not speaking out. Anyone else you guys haven’t seen? What about Schwartkamph?(sp.) I did hear Madonna giving her OH so valuable opinions.
Vanilla Ice has not (to my knowledge) repeated his cleric-like mantra “Peace In The Middle East” while accompanying Debbie Gibson onstage to hand out a video award.
I would have assumed that Nancy Reagan would have released a statement on behalf of herself and the former President.
Sir Rhosis
I saw Stormin’ Norman on CNN at some point in the last few days. Needless to say, he is quite supportive of a military offensive.
I saw Bob Dole at the memorial service, but I haven’t heard him speak.
John Walsh just chimed in on Fox News. He is hosting a two hour America’s Most Wanted tonight (uninteruppted by commercials). He’s been to the blast sight. Law enforcement types love that guy.
Rev. Al and Jesse, where are you???
Reagan may not be in a position to issue public statements any more, but his daughter Patty Davis wrote a piece for MSNBC and Newsweek: What Would Dad Do?
I also saw Al Gore at the memorial service, but haven’t heard him say anything. Or for that matter, his running mate. I guess losing candidates “never die, they just clam-up”.
I heard Lieberman briefly. Gore’s previous plans to attack (politically) Bush in the upcoming months have obviously been altered. It would be unseemly.
I forgot to list Jesse (I too wondered was he too busy suing college football teams). I forgot about Rev. Al.
Anyone hear Falwell’s take? Sad.
Was it day before yesterday that these two jerks blamed Americans ie abortionists, pornographers, gays, feminists, ACLU, nonGod-fearing rationalists for losing God’s grace and protection? I know we love to box folks into stereotypes and I hate when this happens, but somehow I cannot avoid my mind’s image of bin Laden/Falwell/Robertson and other so-called religious fanatics into the same box of idiots…
Bush even rebuked those two jokers. So did my Reverend in Church today.
I heard from Jessie the Body today.
I wonder when some idiot sports reporter will ask John Rocker what he thinks of the WTC tragedy…
What about Oprah?
Margaret Thatcher is somewhat slow out of the blocks on this.
Actually, I saw her interviewed very early on in the story. Really choked up.
She was actually very vocal in both her support for the US and her condemnation of the perpetrators from very early on. Not that whatever she said should make an iota of difference but we cant have aspersions cast where there not warranted
Have I missed it or has the Pope not said anything yet?
I cast an aspersion? Where?
(And the Pope did issues a condemnation of the act.)
I think the aspersion is cast by myself for missing the piece, although my television is never off for a week, and I read 3 daily newspapers.
I note that watsonwil is in the US and Damhna is in Finland.
Do either of you recall the channel which carries the interview?
Oh, ok. I thought the aspersion was that she was choked up. I thought “who wasn’t”?
I don’t recall. It was an interview with her coming out of a service to honor the dead. Possibly CNN. It wasn’t a sit down interview, so it may have been on many networks.
Farakahn checked in with a response. Pretty much the only time in my life I have agreed with him.
Still no Oprah?
I personally hadn’t forgotten not to abstain from failing to remain silent about the attack.
wait…nevermind.
