Nope, as I’ve said several times, apparently to deaf ears, Wilson is free to find some other way of showing that his contrition is genuine. I don’t know what that might be, perhaps stepping down, or apologizing to his constituents for his bad behavior. The choice is Wilson’s. Until he does something there is no reason whatsoever to believe that his apology is genuine.
Given his TV interview today (see prev post) I’m not expecting Jack shit from Joe Wilson, don’t you hold your breath either Frank. That being the case, and given the forced nature of the initial apology, I’ll assume his contrition is a lie, just like his accusation against the president.
That reminds me of something: Obama keeps talking about the time for taking action being NOW…so why isn’t his proposal going into effect until 2013? I’m guessing he realizes it will be such an unmitigated disaster that he doesn’t want its impact to hinder his reelection chances.
He wants president Palin to be able to take full credit for how smoothly the whole implementation goes.
Three years of prep time should allow even Sarah Barracuda to avoid a Katrina like rollout, if she wants to.
Wilson will be the darling of Fox news. he will be Rush and Becks hero. He will do fine until he has to run again.
The effects start to roll out immediately. They just aren’t fully instated until 2013.
Incidentally, that would have been answered for you if you were the sort to think: I have a question, I will see if I can find the answer, instead of one who thinks, I have a question, I will make up an answer.
I know you’d love to believe that Wilson is in trouble. Sorry to break the news:
*Representative Joe Wilson of South Carolina was sharply criticized by both Democrats and his fellow Republicans for shouting “You lie!” during President Obama’s health care address on Wednesday. But here in **his strongly Republican Congressional district *on Thursday, he was celebrated by many of his constituents for his outburst.

So keep on telling us how much money his opponent is raising! I’m sure it’ll make you feel better.
So to ask again, do you believe that what Joe Wilson did was a proper time, place, and method of criticizing the President? Would you advocate it for future generations of Congresspeople, no matter what party the current President may then be? Was John McCain was wrong for demanding an apology from Wilson?
His opponent almost beat him last time without any money, so go ahead and comfort yourself with the anecdotal piece about a few toothless, hillbilly yokels being happy about his crass behavior.
Wilson outspent Miller 2 to 1 in the last election, and won with 55% of the vote. To a relative unknown and a newcomer. I think maybe the district is bluer than you think, and Miller, an Iraq vet, might get some respect. Don’t expect a cakewalk for Wilson, his big mouth has made it a race.
As opposed to the toothless, hillbilly yokels who are upset with him? Wilson has something like 52% of the country on his side, according to the polls; the more people hear about Obama’s lunatic plan to dismantle the nation’s health-care system, the more they don’t like it. The guy is a failed, ACORN community-organizer (whatever that is); he’s not the person most intelligent people want making their life-and-death decisions for them.
Dio, Dio, Dio. “American cheese on white bread with Minnesota mayo” Dio.
Hillbillies are like Tennesee, Arkansas, Kentucky… South Carolina is dead solid cracker, similar to the peckerwood, but lacking the culture and sophisitication.
I find your lack of fact disturbing.
Actually, Stephe96, I think what most people would be interested to hear from you right now is your answer to **Leaper’**s questions. Is there some reason you refuse to acknowledge them?
… It’s weird to see “interested to hear from” and “Stephe96” in the same sentence.
I have no problem with what Wilson did; he spoke “truth to power.” How many Democrats apologized for booing Bush? Isn’t it interesting that we don’t even know their names? But somehow we learned the name “Joe Wilson” within minutes! Gee, I wonder why…
I think McCain is an idiot, a born loser.
Thanks in advance for putting “truth” in quotes. Saves a lot of arguing.
And if any single Democrat had shouted at Bush during a speech, you’d have known his name. It’s harder to identify a group, and there were groups of Republicans booing and making noise yesterday as well.
Hint: The scary evil ones are brown and tend to speak Spanish.
Tell us. I’m curious as to what you’re implying.
Does anyone know the name of Joe Wilson’s wife?
I learned a lovely new word today! Thank you.
