Fuck South Carolina. Their representatives were willing to let Detroit fail because they thought it would help the foreign car companies that have factories in the state. Meanwhile, we have tarrifs in place to protect their textile mills. I mean you people suck! Not just the politicians, you people that elected these fucks. So slavery, the Civil War, lynchings, and Jim Crow, weren’t enough? You had to make sure that your place in hell was guaranteed? I’m speechless.

I don’t think he was texting - I think he was taking notes for a statement that went to the press almost immediately after the speech.

And even if he was sending these notes to his press people - so what? This is pretty much what we pay congresscritters for.

I wouldn’t get too bent out of shape were this a Democrat - unless it were proven they were playing solitaire.

This example of tu quoque is very silly, but actually I agree that whatever he was doing, as long as he was doing it quietly there’s nothing wrong with it.

As to my opinion of this incident - it’s just further proof that the Republicans are out of control. Their actual leaders are right-wing radio douchebags. Their political leaders are fucking morons who have no actual ideas or plans, but are just content to try and ride the wave of crazy. Their constituency is two parts sheer lunactics, two parts plain stupid, and one part gutless weasels who will support anything or sit silently on any matter as long as they personally have to pay less in taxes.

I extend sincere apologies to the President for this lack of civility.”

Of course, it’s not just this evening that Mr. Wilson and his fellow Republicans have let their emotions get the best of them, it’s most of the past nine months.
Apology is not enough. Let’s see Wilson and his colleagues make amends for their behavior. Supporting a government run “public option” health plan instead of freaking tort reform bullshit would make a good start.
