But now she’s got this terrible cough and sex practically kills her (not that she lets that stop her, the little trouper!). It’s such a habit now she can’t not do it.
So own up folks, do we have any breath-holders among us?
I do. It does make it faster and much stronger, in my experience. I’ve been donig it that way for so long that I think it’s subconcious now.
I also either a) collapse into hysterical laughter when I climax [almost always] or b) burst into tears [very rarely] .

Ditto. It’s like a concentration thing for me. I have tried to breathe through it, can’t do it.

If I breathe and I’m close, it sort of goes away, unless I’m RIIIIGHT on the edge and then I have to. It’s a handy signal for my boyfriend, I suppose.

Well I’m glad she doesn’t do that! She routinely comes 20+ times in a session, that much hysterical laughter could get tedious, not to mention drawing complaints from the neighbours …

Is that like the amyl nitrate thing? That never really did it for me. Scary, but not fun.
I find I do this unconciously as I get close. When I hold my breath, I can really feel my heart pounding. But I don’t deliberate hold my breath, because if I do, it makes me realy dizzy. I’ve also gotten some wicked headaches after an orgasm, dunno what is up with that…
