Who in fiction are you? (Book Week Scotland Personality Test)

I got Mary-Jane Watson too!

Another Aragorn, which would be cool if I didn’t have a co-worker whose nickname was “Hobbit”. Now it just hits too close to home, and sounds like a whole lot of work.

Hercule Poirot. Not too bad a match, all in all, although I’m not nearly that fussy.

I’m Elizabeth Bennett, from Pride & Prejudice. Go figure.

Same here, and I’d generally say the same about myself.

I’m Mary Poppins, which is excellent because the book Mary Poppins was awesome. I do not like that Disney Mary Poppins at all.

I got Batgirl. I know I should probably find that cool, but…yeah, that’s not me.

In the books, almost every woman that Blomkvist meets immediately wants to have sex with him, so at least you’ve got that going for you.

I say, I’m Dr Watson! More a detached observer than an active participant. Quite right. Jolly, jolly good!

I got that one too. Very mixed bag

bolding mine :dubious:

Holden Caulfield you phonies.

Scout, from To Kill A Mockingbird, and no way.

It’s very unfair that they wanted to know my age and sex before assigning me a character. Maybe they were looking for someone old enough to have read the book, but everybody has to read that book in school at some point, even now.

I’m Atticus Finch. I haven’t actually read To Kill a Mockingbird, but the description accompanying him was pretty spot on.

“Trusting your instincts and intuition” and “using logic and analysis” are opposites? Damn! Having gone “eenie minie” in that one, apparently I have to call Jragon “Daddy”, as I’m Scout (they’re definitely not taking age into account).

There were a lot of false dichotomies. I had a lot of trouble with that question too. I mean, I use logic and reason – but I rely a lot on intuition as both a starting point and a means to “just pick something” when it’s clear that in depth logical analysis isn’t really worth it. Hell, intuition is the way you find the next step in analysis a lot of times.

Yeah, a finely-honed intuition is logic that’s working faster than you can see it, that’s all. Separating the two is akin to separating writing from spelling.

A lot of those either/ors I wanted to select both.

I ended up with Mikael Blomkvist as well. So where are all those hot ladies supposed to be trying to jump my bones?

I am Coraline?!

Well. Let me do it again.
Great, Lisbeth Salander.

Can’t I be someone who isn’t an emotional cripple?! Sheesh. At least if I were the female from Silence of the Lambs I would have some emotional depth.

The site is down, so I can’t take the test. Fortunately, I know who I am. I am Keyser Soze

Color me jealous!

But apparently, I’m Dr. Watson:

*You might prefer the company of one good friend to a crowd but, despite this introversion, you maintain an offbeat sense of humour your friends and colleagues love. Even though you place trust in a sense of law and order, you are flexible enough to blur lines should your friends ask for a spot of burglary in an excellent cause.

On tough days, when you’re suffering from certain over-bearing colleagues, you might feel inadequate and defensive. However, you balance this with good intuition and often surprisingly good people skills, not least your fierce loyalty to friends.*

Not too far off the mark.
