I will not pay the subscription either, mainly because I never pay for anything on the net. Although I rarely post, it still saddens me.
I will still lurk though.

Screw You guys, I’m going home.
Cajun Man, I am still waiting on a reply to this question. I do think the above thread should also be moved. Unless you are only moving the threads that you personally disagree with.
I have decided not to pay. It isn’t worth it. Man, and that says something considering it is only $4.95 For every 1 open minded person you have 3 closed minded idiots who can’t seem to understand that other people disagree with them.
Anyway to the ones I have had wonderful conversations with, good bye it has been fun. To the rest, well enjoy living in your bubble.
My two your prediction: The opinions and people on this board will become polarized. Everyone will believe the same thing and agree with each other on everything. And that is a shame.
Prophetic! This board will be in the tank by April, '05 after “everyone” gets tired of love “festing” with each other on each and every thread … on top of paying $7.50 to $14.95 a year to subscribe.
Lose the martydom and insults, moejuck. Your opinons weren’t censored in any way. Your thread was merely moved to a forum appropriate for polling. Nothing more.
Right now we’re pretty well innudated with threads about the subscription plan. Some of them are very close in intent, w/ discussions that have veered away from the thread titles. This means we have to read them closely to juggle which should/shouldn’t be merged, moved to other forums, etc.
Speak your views. Knock yourself out. But the rules that hold for MPSIMS apply here as well: stay civil and no personal insults. If your outrage won’t fit those rules, take it to The Pit.

kasuo: I’m really surprised to read that you think nobody knows who you are! I know who you are. I’d consider you a reg, and I like your posts. And while I’m stroking you ego, I’ll take the opportunity to say that I like your username, too. Is it Japanese?
Like big alex, I don’t pay for things on the Internet, so I won’t be subscribing. It’s been a fun 2.5 years. I’m going to try to end things on an even 1,500 posts, just for kicks. This is #1,497.
Get real! Your not inundated by a “subscription plan” to this board. Your inundated because you are trying to charge a subsciption fee for an Internet bulletin board which is unprecedented …
I’ll be declining the opportunity to pay to post, as well.
I’ll be declining as well. It’ll give me time to work on my own site, which has been neglected lately.
Sigh.
No wonder it’s taking so long.
I said, rather clearly, that we are dealing with an unusually high volume of threads on a common topic, i.e. subscriptions. Quite naturally, lots of people have strong opinions about it, pro and con.
I attempted, apparently futilely, to explain the housekeeping issues involved. You know, sinister fascist stuff like merging nearly identical discussions, forum placement, etc. It’s to maybe, just possibly, keep the boards reasonably readable for all the people interested in the issue.
It’s fine and fair to dislike the idea.
Just please channel your responses appropriately, okay?
This is an IMHO poll. Keep your discussions civil and don’t hijack the poll by flaming. That isn’t fair to the OP. If you’re outraged, look into The Pit.
TVeblen
P.S. Charging for internet bulletin boards is far from unprecedented. It’s just new for us.
Flip flopping too? I could care less, and I am certainly not outraged, about your moving this thread. You said you were inundated about the “subscription plan.” What about the fact that your are requiring people to pay to post? Talk about spin …
p.s. - please provide us with a list of open bulletin boards that require a subscription fee?
She wasn’t talking about the subscription plan, dude. She was talking about the 20-25 threads that have popped up in all forums discussing it. THAT is what they are “inundated” with. There was no spin, just a simple lack of undertanding on your part. Hope that helps.
I did reply to your question, moejuck. Had you checked the link I supplied you to the thread in question, you would have seen that I had closed said thread (15 minutes before I moved yours) and posted a link to a previous thread on the same subject already in IMHO.

Doesn’t help a bit. What does the first line in the above quote by the mod say?!?!
DrDoom: what’s the difference between “subscription plan” (TVeblen’s words) and “the fact that your are requiring people to pay to post” (your words)? The point is, there’s a bunch of threads about that thing they said they were doing soon.
What I said after what the mod said is totally immaterial to this argument. He said “inundated about the subscription plan”, like “everyone” is interested in subscribing … pure spin!!! Cut me a break …
[Inigo Montoya]I do not think this word means what you think it means[/IM]
Either that, or I just don’t understand your point.
Inundated with threads about the subscription plan does not mean that everyone wants to subscribe, it means there are many threads about the situation in general.
“Pretty innundated by threads…etc.”
This particular back-and-forth is finished, Dr. Doom. You’re hijacking the OP’s thread and that’s unfair. IMHO is for casual debate, with polling as a side feature.
Choose your point, look first for related threads and then proceed as appropriate, possibly including starting your own thread from a new viewpoint, in an appropriate forum. I will not allow this perfectly legitimate thread to be closed or derailed by one person.
I understand that feelings are running high, but please consider this as a formal warning. Speak your mind at will, but place your complaint rightly. You will play responsibly with others here or you won’t play at all, with or without subscriptions.
