Author Stanley Bing writes books about the corporate world, and also has had a column in Fortune Magazine for a number of years. I have his latest book, Bullshit Jobs and How To Get Them, a would-be-funny-if-it-weren’t-so-true kind of book.
I presume that this name is a pseudonym. I used to get Fortune and the footer on his column says he’s an executive at a company he would rather not name, or words to that effect. I never saw his photo in the magazine, just a drawing of the silhouette of a man leaning back in a chair with his feet on the desk.
In his book, his photo appears on the rear flap. The blurb says that he’s an ultra-senior executive at a company whose identity is one of the worst-kept secrets in business.
So who is he and who does he work for? And if he’s so ultra-senior how does he have time to do all this writing? I guess he must have a bullshit job.
