The Ad Council is a non-profit organization that produces print and television ads of the “public service” variety. They tend to emphasize personal responsibility, and while not especially conservative in tone, they do receive considerable support from Rockefeller-type conservatives, who prefer the “responsibility” message over the “social services” message.
FWIW, G. William Domhoff considers them the media arm of the U.S. “power elite.”
