Those were my words. I inferred them from what she wrote.
ETA: seems she won a Best Actress Oscar, was in the sequel to Graffitti, was in the remake of The Blob, and has done some cameos on TV, including an episode of Criminal Minds last year. So “reasonably well-known” isn’t an overstatement.
I guess. I’m just not sure why your wife thought you should be able to recognize an actress who’s career basically began and ended 40 years ago.
I’m guessing that you weren’t alive when the movie was released. Movies had a far more substantial impact on the national consciousness then than they do now. That one in particular spawned a genre which lasted well until the end of the end of the 1970s.
