I’ve been racking my brain trying to recall his name. He was always the comic relief in a lot of Westerns and other films. Because of his short stature and strong accent.
cued to his scene in Merle Haggard’s video. Boy this is some classic stuff. Bonnie Owens singing with Merle and the Mexican guy in the video too. I know I’ve seen this guy in dozens of roles. He was always really good.
The guy in the music video doesn’t have his signature mustache but he does look a lot like Pedro Gonzalez. Pedro is the guy that appeared in all those Westerns and a lot of tv shows.
No, besides he had died 6 years earlier, if the clip is in fact from 1969.
Or even Jose Gonzales-Gonzales, per the cast list.
Apparently Jose and Pedro were brothers. There is definitely a family resemblance!
That clip was from a movie? huh. I thought it was one of those 60’s country & western shows.
I didn’t realize that. He must have died soon after his appearance in From Russia with Love.
ETA: I see he didn’t make it through the movie. From the link in a prior post:
“Armendáriz was terminally ill with cancer during the filming of From Russia with Love, and towards the end of shooting he was too ill to perform his part; his final scenes were performed by his double, director Terence Young.”
Pedro Armendariz Jr., then?
