I know as soon as this is answered I’ll :smack::smack::smack::smack:, but I can’t think of this name. A coworker said she was going to see Van Morrison, and I said “No way, he’s dead!” She quickly let me know I was wrong, and for the life of me, I can’t figure out the name of the singer I’m thinking of. He’s a balladeer and recently died of cancer (I think), leaving behind a beautiful last farewell album. One of the more poignant songs had haunting lyrics like “Please think about me when I’m gone”, but my Google-fu is weak on that one. Countdown to the quick answer in three…two…one…
Warren Zevon.
When I was having my wedding pictures done the photographer had his final album (The Wind) playing in the background. I hadn’t heard it yet, but I knew of it. I still remember it being kind of weird hearing him sing Knocking on Heaven’s Door.
Probably this song.
Warren Zevon? 2003, The Wind album (wiki link) includes “Keep Me in Your Heart”. A link to its lyrics.
