Who is Trump's base?

MacMansions/machome, big new truck, Christian private school/home school/lives (or is actively working towards) in “good” school area, annoying Facebook posts that explains complex problems with easy solutions/quotes, enormous fear of overseas travel/no overseas travel at all, questions climate change (many times very passionately), self made career/successful professional (not Ph.D. Level), gun owner, usually church goer (segregated church, Protestant, puts on a suit and tie), if over 50: gets all news from foxnews, if younger: add online blogs like drudge report/breitbart etc, etc… Man this is like a whole new thread onto itself

No, it isn’t. Totally a bad idea. Seriously. Pretend you never said it, I’ll back you up.

Yes and no. I believe a Trump presidency will be a heck of a lot better for the USA demographically than a Hillary Clinton presidency (and better than any of the other Republicans who ran this year,) but I don’t harbor any illusion that Trump is some kind of race realist/HBD-believer who is using dog whistles to signal to the white nationalist racist KKK Hitler base he covets like leftists seem to believe. I don’t believe a Trump administration will make more areas that are as white as possible, but I do believe there’s a reasonable chance it would end the federal government’s recent policies of doing things like trying to have HUD force “diversity” on white neighborhoods with section 8 housing, or importing Somalian refugees and dumping them in the middle of small towns in Maine or Minnesota.

No. I viewed it last night so it’s not perfectly fresh in my mind, but the impression I got was that while Klein thought he was being fair-minded, in the end he did say that Trump support came down to “fear of those who are not like ‘us’” or something to that effect. I don’t accept that explanation. I don’t buy into the liberal denunciation of a desire on the part of whites to live among others who are like us (even when manifested only subconsciously) as “fear.”

What does ‘better for the USA demographically’ mean? Because it sure as hell sounds like a reformulation of the old segregation ‘separate but equal’ argument. Are you under some delusion that Trump really has any feeling for any minorities whatsoever other than in getting their votes?

Since when does ‘like us’ mean the same color skin?
