We are replacing the windows in my house and I want to ask your opinions about who the manufactures the best vinyl replacement windows.
At our house we chose Certainteed windows over the most popular brand which seems to be Milgard. I thought they were stronger and the hardware was better. Milgard windows are everywhere so there are a lot of dealers. Certainteed is not so well known in this area at least. That is something to consider in the decision. I did not like the Viking brand which I saw at the Home Depot.

Vinyl replacement windows are like vinyl fencing: every local area has a number of local manufacturers, so you’re likely to hear about brands that are known to locals, and don’t carry national clout.
I see at least one Californian posted, so maybe those ring a bell.
Certainteed took the prize from Consumer Reports in 2000.
We just went through Feldco. I think they make their own, but I’m not sure. We’re happy with them, and they tilt out for easy cleaning. Helluva price, too.
