only 15 people? when my aunty got married it could atleast hold 30 people
she limited to parents, siblings, nieces nephews, and one friend each.

there was atleast 150 people at the reception

Alright I’ll rephrase the situation.

Limited budget. Money is ALL going to the party you’re having at home. Ceremony to be held at courthouse where there is limited space and only 12-15 guests are allowed.

Who do you invite to the ceremony?

I ask because this situation arose with a friend of mine and there were many people who were genuinely offended they were excluded (close friends of the groom were included while most others of equal closeness were not).

If it was a question of people getting offended, I would just not have anyone at the ceremony. See y’all at the party. You could also limit attendance at the ceremony to children and parents/grandparents of the couple.

Yeah, the only people who absolutely need to be there are the spouses-to-be. I’m not even certain whether an officiant is needed 100% of the time.
