I definitely mean “commit murder”–that is, the illegal and immoral killing (by whatever standards of morality you subscribe to) of a human being. In other words, killing any animal under any circumstances doesn’t count (I’m not arguing that killing animals is right, just that it isn’t murder); nor does killing as a soldier in a war declared by your country (and please, let’s not get into an Iraq or Vietnam debate); likewise, killing in self-defense, legal execution, et cetera is disallowed.
I also don’t (necessarily) mean “commit murder to acquire”–though if you have an answer along those lines I’m happy to hear it. I want murders you’d commit to protect someone else, or to achieve a goal, as well.
I’ll go first. While I can’t imagine murdering another human being for my own profit, if one of my nieces or nephews were in danger from a stalker who was threatening to rape, assault, or kill her, and all legitimate means of protecting her seemed ineffectual, I’d commit murder to protect them (and also to prevent their losing my sisters as parents).
My murder fantasies are always about revenge.
Never profit, in fact I’d pay for a clear shot at some bastard and good alibi keep the investigators off my tail.
Actually, though my revenge fantasies don’t usually end with murder, but just having the creep begging me for mercy and promising never again to swipe my fries when my head is turned.
I dunno. I can’t see myself actually pulling a trigger or grabbing a knife.
Now, poison…heh.
I would have to under imminent threat or one of my kids under same–IOW, self defense.
I love me some murder mysteries, but I am not vindictive in that way and I’m not violent.
Having no kids, I think the only thing that could cause me to commit a murder is if someone I loved was being hurt/tortured right in front of me and I had the means to do it at that moment.
