Who Orginally Used the Term "British Invasion" to Define Popular 1960s UK Music Acts?

A search of google books, et al. doesn’t seem to ID who (person or entity) is credited with first using the term “British Invasion” to classify UK music acts in early 1964. Several sites claim it was initially used by the “news media” - but that’s not much in the way of specific. If accurate, I’m gonna guess it originated at an American newspaper or magazine. It’s just odd no one has ever stepped forward and claimed credit as the originator, unless of course, it was a spoon fed term from a record label or publicity agency.

Any insight or proof of where the recylced usage originated?

Wiki cites the CBS Evening News, 2/7/64.

In the years just previous, the term had been used to describe the influx of British plays on Broadway. It might have been borrowed from that.
