Who played “Elaine” on Taxi, and was she the same girl who played an Aunt to Woody on Cheers who had an affair with Woody’s father-in-law? - Jinx
Marilu Henner played Elaine; I don’t know the answer to the rest of your question.
Marilu Henner. She was also on that tv sitcom with Burt Reynolds.
The girl on one “Cheers” episode was Somantha something. I noticed the unique spelling of “Somantha” va. “Samantha”… - Jinx
Elaine would be the actress with the “rack”…
I believe she also had “knobs”.
You also might want, in the future, to check out the Internet Movie Database:
It’s got the casts of most movies and TV shows, and a quick search there would have answered your question.
I remember seeing her interviewed on Johnny Carson (I think). For some reason, the question came up of what she was doing July 20, 1969 (the first moon landing, for you youngsters). She looked shocked and asked “How did you find out?!” Apparently, that was the day she lost her virginity.
That said so much about her on so many levels. I still love her, though, and will fight any man who says a word agin’ her.
These days Henner has a few diet & lifestyle books she’s written; from time to time one can see her pushing them on TV.

Her imdb entry says Henner has been keeping active on stage, appearing in the 90s revival of Chicago (she’s also a skilled dancer) and as recently as August, 2002 has been on Broadway in The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife.
Imdb lists no appearance on Cheers, but the actor who played Woody’s father-in-law was Richard Doyle, who had ten appearances from 1989-1993 (and later worked as a cartoon voice actor, which I find significant somehow). His bio lists the episode titles, so this combined with a Cheers episode guide should let you find the name of the actress, assuming she appeared or was referenced in one of those episodes (it’s possible Doyle himself doesn’t appear in the episode you describe but was only referred to).
Too complicated? Hey, that’s TV trivia for ya.
That Marilu had some boobies, didn’t she?
I believe you’re thinking of Sondra Currie.
from here:
It was on Later with Bob Costas. Henner said she has a photographic memory and can remember what she had for dinner and what she was doing every night of her life. (at least since childhood). So Costas picks out the date of the first moon landing (July 20, 1969).
Henner: That was the night I lost my virginity… In a shower.
Costas: At least we know it wasn’t Neil Armstrong.
but could it have been Mr. Gorsky?
