I know the answer is, who DIDN’T sing this song, but I’m looking for a specific version.
The song, Amazing Grace.
The version, it was used with a ‘Save the Children’ or some other sevice agency, advert campaign. Maybe you remember the ad. There were lots of black and white photos of needy orphans and such, and in the background was playing a version of Amazing grace with a male vocal lead. They sang all the verses too.
I have no idea how to find out who it might be. I’ve already done some searching but as everyone, no, EVERYONE, has recorded it, it’s quite a task.
I must have listened to about 20 versions by now, I’m spent.
How about it? Do you the remember the advert? Can’t you just hear it in your head?
I know, I know. Care to make a wild ass guess about who’s singing?
Help me out if you have any idea, please, I’m begging you.
I could be at it all day, it’s the final song for a cd of gospel music I am putting together.
If it is the one I saw the other day, you are correct. At work today a radio station played his version of “Oh Holy Night”. Everyone stopped working to listen, he does an amazing job on that song.
A clip of Aaron Neville singing Amazing Grace. That’s him heard singing it in the television advertisement for the American Red Cross and Katrina relief.
I really appreciate the effort, but I may have been premature with my thanks.
You seemed so sure, I was certain you were on the mark.
Unfamiliar with Aaron Neville, I have to say he has a superb voice and his version of this song is fabulous, but the version I’m looking for is a much deeper voice.
Not that I retrack my blessings or anything, cause you still earned 'em.
