Well, looks like you’ve never been to Kelvinside!
I’m just glad they didn’t do anything crazy with the casting. I don’t know much about this guy, but just from the announcement special, he seems like he could be good.
After watching the first series of “Skins,” I’ve decided that Nicholas Hoult might be an interesting choice. He’s kind of good-looking, but funny enough looking to be a Doctor.
By the way, why didn’t anyone tell me that “Skins” was so frickin’ addictive?
ETA: And I see that Peter Capaldi is the winner! That’s what I get for not reading the whole thread!
He was in The Hour as well.
Don’t you mean the 8th doctor’s ‘Old Age’? We saw 9 die.
And what do you mean when you say “real” 10th Doctor?
My theory is either 0th Doctor, or some weird Future-Doctor that found a way to “go back” into his own timestream (timey-wimey, and all that) and maybe tried to “take over” the other incarnations, or something weird like that.
Yes, I did mean 8th. As for the 2nd question, I meant it’s possible that Hurt is a regeneration after 8 and before what we know as 9, which was suppressed because of whatever he did that was so horrible. In that case, I’d guess the thing he did somehow involved ending the Time War and destroying the Time Lords.
John Hurts Doctor is between 8th and 9th, he has done something that makes him not a Doctor, must be bad.
Oh yeah, I forgot that was another one of my thoughts.
It’s very possible that Hurt’s Doctor is the one who ended the Last Great Time War, not 8, and by committing mass genocide of TWO races, he has earned the ire of the ones that followed.
I just watched some more “Skins,” and funnily enough, Peter Capaldi is one of the main character’s father! Uh, just thought I’d share that, for what it’s worth.
It’s been a spectacularly ineffective genocide of one, however. But I guess that, as between the two, that was the one he was really more interested in EXTERMINATING, it’s rather cold comfort to be reminded once a year how much he bolloxed it up.
