Who still hasn't filed their US tax return?

Try not to spend it all in one place.

My kids are no longer kids and the mortgage deduction after paying for 15 years is minimal, so we owe the Feds a good hunk. We will be getting back about 1/3 of that amount from the state, but it still stings. We won’t file until the last minute today.

Why, yes, I did just go in and change my W-4 to lower the number of dependents and increase the withholding. Don’t want to see a huge tax bill next year. I’m slow, but I do learn.

And I’m having them send me an actual paper check, which I’ll deposit, in person, via an actual bank teller. I wouldn’t trust anything electronic with an amount of that magnitude.

Just filed mine. I use an online service. I’m hoping I didn’t screw up the stuff about Health Savings Accounts.

Got ours done yesterday afternoon. Owed a bit, for the first time in years. !@&^%!&@$*!!

Got everything filed today that had to be. The state gives me until May 2.

I efiled my federal return at 1:30 a.m. this morning. I got the confirmation that it had been accepted by the Feds less than an hour later. We owed more than $2K in additional taxes this year. Ouch! :smack: I really need to increase our withholding for this year before we get hit with an underpayment penalty. (Not to mention it sucks getting hit with an unexpected major expense like this.)

I didn’t feel like paying an additional $24.99 to efile my state return, so I just mailed in the hard copy this afternoon.
