Who Swapped Presents with Someone

In the sense of giving someone the same present they gave you?

My wife and I did this twice this year. We both gave My Name is Earl DVDs (perhaps not surprising since this is the only non-news/weather program we both watch) and we both gave each other Wait Wait Don’t Tell me calendars.

Two of many, so not problem. Anyone else do this?

My SO and I gave each other a Franklin Electronic Scrabble Companion (electronic Scrabble dictionary). But I think we’re keeping both, because we don’t live together and we often play Scrabble at either place.

Mods, I thought I had switched to IMHO before posting. If anyone feels it belongs there, please feel free to kick it over.

Not recently… but about 15 years back, Typo Knig and I gave each other a copy of the newestPatrick McManuscollection. He opened his first, and started guffawing, and handed me my package.

My and I both got each other the DVD of Police Squad. Fine by both of us, saves us the trouble of borrowing it from each other.

Thanks for the link! I love Pat McManus and there are a couple of books here that I haven’t read–didn’t know they existed!

The very first of his books I ever read was A Fine And Pleasant Misery. By page TWO, I was laughing so hard I was choking!

A few years ago my brother and I ended up exchanging copies of Return of the Bunny Suicides.

We realised what we’d done before Christmas when we were on the phone saying how much the other was going to love their gift.

My sister and I gave each other matching ID holders from the school I currently attend/of which she’s an alumnae. Same color and everything. It works out well - every time I flash my bus pass, I’ll think of my sis.
