in prison lore, jody is the guy who makes time w/ the wife or girlfriend the con leaves behind while he does his time. but why jody, not a particularly masculine or even sexy name, like mac or giovanni. in hispanic jail circles, i think he’s sancho. where did jody come from?

I questioned the masculinity of Jody too when I was serving in the armed forces. I kind of felt he was a worm, and I would squish him upon my return.

FTR, I’ve never heard a cadence called a “jody call”. I’ve only heard cadences about jody called “jody calls”. Minor nitpick.
