Like the linked thread says, they already make it. Purina Monkey Chow is complete nutrition for a person. If you don’t like the taste of that, just buy bottles of Ensure from the pharmacy or most supermarkets. That is what it is for. You don’t even have to drink Ensure. You can just have it pumped into your stomach for convenience if you are the always on the go type.
Hmm…could we get it in bar form, so I wouldn’t have to waste a bowl?
Better yet if the bars were calibrated for so-many calories per inch, so I could accurately trim or add as needed for current energy consumption (still handier than liquids).
I have wanted this for years. When my kids were little, I REALLY wanted something like this for them, for bringing with when we were out and about. The closest thing I found nutritionally was Post **Honey Nut Shredded Wheat dry cereal. They’re small and portable, won’t spoil at room temperature, and are pretty tasty.
I haven’t cooked for months. At home I eat those individually packaged meals that you don’t need to refrigerate. Nowadays you can even get Thai and Indian food in that kind of packaging. We’re on our way to having people kibble, and it tastes a lot better than I anticipated.
I make “peoplefood smoothies” for breakfast. I put in some fruit, milk or yogurt, maybe a spoonful of peanut butter, a handful of raw oatmeal and a spoonful of instant coffee. It doesn’t taste great, but it takes three minutes to prepare, one minute to drink, and gives me plenty of energy until the next meal.
Honestly, I wouldn’t trust a more processed People Kibble. I’ll have to give my vote to “let’s live a simpler life so that we can eat real food.” Sorry guys.
Absolutely. Now, I probably wouldn’t eat it as a daily staple of my diet, but it would be handy for snacking or a quick meal on the run, and for camping. As a starting point, I’d look at what they put into survival rations. I have some that have about a 5-year shelf life and are basically like a really dense, rich cookie.
Even in my theoretically simpler life, there will still be days I wouldn’t want to cook. (Unless my life has become simpler because it now has maids and chefs - in which case, bring on the simple).
I’m all for the people kibble idea. Unless it’s likely to turn me into a zombie.
