Well, look. Some of those questions are so damned random. Others are quite easy.
I’ve set up this thread so that we can share weird, random, simple, or complex questions that have touched us in ways we can’t begin to imagine.
You can make up questions too. (if you like.)
Here are some questions that I have fallen in love with:
What does the Chandler Wobble Affect?
A. The Earth B. A Frisbee C. A Soap Bubble D. The Human Brain
(I knew that one b/c of the Straight Dope!)
What backward spelled word is used repeatedly throughout the novel/movie “The Shining”?
A. Blood B. Murder C…Skeleton D. Death
(i made up some answers b/c i didn’t remember the other incorrect ones. Just was mind boggling that someone could not know this!)
Enjoy this thread. And if i’ve put it in the wrong place, I profusely apologize in advance.
I only watched the show once. After watching someone answer “llamas” to the question “on what animals did Hanibal cross the Alps” (this was the $100 question, and he used both a phone call AND got rid of two choices), I decided it could not possibly be worth the veiwing time.
My b/f (now ex.) wouldn’t let me watch that show after I went hysterical over the Mitchner question.
Regis: Which book did Mitchner not write?
Idiot: Well…I’m going to say Hawaii, because Mitchner liked history and Hawaii doesn’t have any…
Kathryn: MY GOD!!! WHAT A <need to be in the pit for this language>
Kathryn’s ex: Um…sweetie…I think we should change the ch…
Kathryn: DID YOU SEE THAT!!! WHAT A <pit> !!!
Did you see when he talked Norm MacDonald out of a $1million answer? Norm said he didn’t know for sure but was going to guess (the correct answer) three times and each time, Old Final Answer tried to guilt him out of it, because money for charity was on the line.
[hijack] (the member) - I watched all of the episode with Norm. Sure he was last, but he breezed through so easy, after that fastest-finger question they gave him. insert eye roll The ONLY thing that bugged me about his performance was that on each of the three celebrity episodes I saw, the entire time, he was always chewing the same piece of gum! With his mouth OPEN! Okay…I guess I have to say it… [/hijack]
Having seen both English and American versions I have to say that Chris Tarrant is the better presenter. Yes he does the trademark
~‘Final answer?’
~‘Final answer Chris’
~‘You don’t want to ask the audience?’
~‘No, final answer’
~‘Don’t want to phone a friend’
~‘No I’m pretty confident that Paris is the capital of France’… etc. etc. but the show is infectious. Really the only thing that’s getting on my tits is the way that things like this are adopted by the masses (like ‘wazzzup’ last week). If someone phones me at work and asks me a question and i graciously answer… well you can guess what little routine they wander off in to!
A new show has just began in England called ‘The Weakest Link’. At the end of every round the contestants vote on who they think should be next eliminated from their group, i.e. the person they think is messing up the most, getting questions wrong, not banking the money. When they have voted, the presenter says ‘John Smith, you ARE the weakest link, goodbye’. Guess what people have adopted as their new way to finish calls? Go on, GUESS! :::infuriated::::mad:
