The poll itself has already kind of ruled on Orlock. Schrek is in the list up top to vote on. Dafoe makes it too.
There’s hardly a need for this except as a checkpoint:

…and it’s already out of date! Thanks, y’all!
I recall being annoyed that he walked over a bridge, and wondering if that was crossing water.
Now with 45 Voters we have two new names but an even stronger lead for #1 and #2:

I did not vote him either, but I expected Klaus Kinski to have way more than just 1 vote at this point.
Wow.
That’s the trouble with ONE vote per voter.
Looks like Mr. Lee is now in second place!

Oh, c’mon! Nothing against Christopher Lee, who is a fine actor and deserving of all the praise that we can heap upon him. But to conduct such a poll on the day that his death is announced is the height of unfairness.
Bela is out in front – maybe for good.

Klaus Kinski.
Amazing actor in one of the most atmospheric take on the story. Forget about the glamour Dracula, this is all about the creepiness, suffering and, yes, boredom of being a centuries-old monster.
Plenty of good actors have done a fine job in the role but if you are pretending to be Dracula you are doing a Bela Lugosi impersonation.
Now, when it comes to Blacula there can be only one.
Bela way out in front now:

I’m gonna vote for the one I’ve seen most recently and therefore is underrated by not appearing on this poll: Duncan Regehr, who played Dracula in Monster Squad.
This will probably be out of date by the time it gets through being posted! I’m pleased that it’s such a lively thread/poll!

Or the man behind Count Blah.
Had to go with Gary Oldman. I had no idea it was him until the credits rolled. The makeup was superb, and Oldman is a chameleon. The laugh was the best, and the role far more creepy and complex. Also, I still try to imitate his pronunciation of ‘blood’.

Me! BLEUGH!
I’m sorry if I scared you.
I voted for French actor Louis Jordan who was remarkably good in a BBC production that I saw on PBS here in the US decades ago.
